Polygon staking with Atlas
Stake POL noncustodially with Atlas Staking and help secure Polygon PoS, the Ethereum scaling network built for fast, low cost global payments and onchain applications. Delegate to an independent Polygon validator while keeping control of your wallet.
POL, right now
Live price, one line, no noise. Prices and rewards are never guaranteed. This is context for a decision, not a quote.
Two validators, keep them even
Same team, same hardware standard, two independent keys. We’d rather see your stake spread across both than piled onto one, so the lighter validator gets the nudge. Right now that’s Atlas Orion.
Atlas Staking
A trusted, independent validator supporting the Polygon network with enterprise grade infrastructure.
Atlas Orion
A second independent validator helping to secure and decentralize the Polygon ecosystem.
Pair balance · live33% of the pair sits with Atlas Orion. Add roughly 560K POL to Orion and the pair is level. Split your stake and you’re spread across two independently operated keys. Same risk and reward profile. Choose one or split your stake.
Our Polygon numbers
We’ve run validators on this network since it was still called MATIC. Every figure below is a machine we operate today, broken down by what it does.
7 machines
Machines we operate for Polygon today.
2020
Genesis mainnet validator on MATIC, before the Polygon rename.
2025
Orion validator acquired.
3 sentry nodes
Sentry nodes protecting the network, one white labeled for a client.
2 white label validators
White label validators operated for clients. Client identities stay private.

Polygon researchT-REX Ledger, Explained for the Rest of Us
A blockchain is a highway, and it doesn’t care who’s driving. T-REX Ledger is the compliance chain that checks the license, built with Polygon CDK and backed by a $100 billion commitment from Apex Group.

Support a more open, secure, and decentralized Polygon network with institutional grade infrastructure. Your POL never leaves your wallet. Delegating tells the network which validator votes on your behalf.
Your wallet stays yours
Delegate POL while retaining control of your assets.
Choose an independent validator
Support a trusted independent team with a long term commitment to Polygon.
Help decentralize the network
Increase network resilience by backing independent validators.
KEEP CONTROL OF YOUR KEYS
Before you connect a wallet or approve a staking transaction, review practical checks for domains, permissions, hardware wallet prompts, and recovery information.
Questions people actually ask
What is Polygon staking?
Staking is putting your POL to work instead of letting it sit still. You delegate it to a validator, the operator running the actual machines that confirm transactions and keep the network honest, and you earn rewards for backing them. This isn’t trading. You’re renting out trust, and getting paid for it.
How do I stake POL with Atlas Staking?
Open the Polygon page in the Atlas app, links are right above, connect your wallet, and delegate whatever amount of POL you want to put to work. Takes a few minutes. You can split your stake across both Atlas Staking and Atlas Orion if you’d rather spread it out. Plenty of people do.
Is staking with Atlas noncustodial?
Yes, completely. Your POL never leaves your wallet. Delegating just tells the network which validator should vote on your behalf, it doesn’t hand over your keys or your coins to anyone, including us. If we vanished tomorrow, your tokens would still be sitting right where you left them.
What’s the difference between Atlas Staking and Atlas Orion?
Same team, same infrastructure, just two separate validators instead of one. We picked up Orion in 2025 so delegators get a real choice. Split your stake between us and you’re spread across two independently operated nodes instead of resting everything on one key.
What are the risks of staking POL?
Delegating POL runs through Polygon’s staking contracts on Ethereum, so you’re taking on smart contract risk alongside the usual protocol risks. Contract code can carry bugs, and it can be changed by whoever governs it. The ordinary proof of stake risks still apply too. Validators can be penalized by the protocol if they misbehave, your tokens sit through an unbonding period before they’re liquid again, and POL’s price moves the whole time you’re staked. None of that’s specific to us, it’s how the network is built. If it matters to you, read the contracts and spread your stake across more than one validator.
How long has Atlas been running Polygon validators?
Since 2020, back when it was still called MATIC and only the true crypto natives had heard of it. Atlas itself launched in 2019, and Polygon was one of the first networks we ever validated on. Same genesis validator, still running today, just with a lot more company on the network now.
Can I unstake or withdraw my POL anytime?
You can unstake whenever you want, no lockup keeping your POL hostage. Polygon runs an unbonding period first, about three to four days, and then you have to manually claim your stake back in the Atlas app, it doesn’t just land in your wallet on its own. Handle both steps and your POL is fully yours again, free to move or sell as you please.
Pick a validator We’ll take it from there
Both keys run on hardware we own in Amsterdam. Choose the lighter one, or split across both, and you’re spread across two independently operated machines.
